1. Just a Game
Just a Game
Look into the sadness, there's no reason to be sad
Look into the anger, there's no reason to be mad
You'll find your direction, you'll find your liberty
It will come together, you'll unlock the mystery

There is still time so take it slow
It's such a crime to not let it show
Don't turn away from what you feel
Someday you'll find it all can be real
Don't let their words bring you down
Don't let your fears turn you upside-down
You will find in your own way
It's just a game we all have to play

Holding it together, it's so hard to stay true
There's always stormy weather but I know you'll make it through
Waiting for tomorrow is such an eternity
There is always sorrow in a world that you can't see

There is still time so take it slow
It's such a crime to not let it show
Don't turn away from what you feel
Someday you'll find it all can be real
Don't let their words bring you down
Don't let your fears turn you upside-down
You will find in your own way
It's just a game we all have to play
Just a Game

2. I Love You
I Love You
I loved you, you did not love me.
I searched for you, you were not looking for me.
I am not a young one I know the difference
I am not a young one I know what love is
I am not a young I know you turn away

I still look for you.
We're one on this day, you still think that we're two.
I am not a young one I know what I'm feeling
I am not a young with just passions that are reeling.
I am not a young I know I love you.

I am not a young one I know what I'm feeling
I am not a young with just passions that are reeling.
I am not a young I know I love you.
You do not love me.
I search for you, you are not looking for me.
You turn away, I still look to you.
We're one on this day
I love you.

3. Listen
Listen
Letters you could never answer.
Letters to you, thrown away.
You don't need to ever listen what I have felt you have heard.

I have gone through all the phases.
I have lived through all the lies.
You don't need to ever listen what I have felt you have heard.

Running in every direction.
Trying to find what is real.
You don't need to ever listen what I have felt you have heard.

4. Guilt Driver
Guilt Driver
The time has come to say goodbye to my guilt driver..

So we're talking about throwing the first stone.
Sometimes things need to be left alone.
And a feeling that serves no good purpose should know when to retire
Instead of lighting a match under long extinguished fires.
The only way to climb is by always looking higher.
The time has come to say goodbye to my guilt driver.

It's a matter of just pulling up the weeds,
Of looking for a good thing and trying to fill a need.
Not letting past mistakes bog you down in the thick mire
Of useless thoughts that do nothing but leave you uninspired.
The only way to climb is by always looking higher.
The time has come to say goodbye to my guilt driver.

Don't want you hangin' around my dreams no more.
What's the point when there's no way to even up the score?
'Cause what I did is done - still life must go on.
So I'm here to say guilt driver you better move along.
The only way to climb is by always looking higher.
The only way to climb is by always looking higher.
The only way to climb is by always looking higher.
The only way to climb is by always looking higher.
The time has come to say goodbye to my guilt driver.

5. If
If
If you could read my mind would you run away and hide
If I could let it show would you be happy to know?
If you looked into my eyes would you see or realize
If you were to turn away would I try to find the right words to say?

If I could find the words to tell you
If you believed it could be right
If you should feel the same way I do
Would we be happier tonight?
If you could understand, if I should take your hand
Maybe you'd take a chance,
Or turn away...

We go through another day, we don't have much to say
Just a passing hello, just a glance as we go.
We live such different lives, when we say our goodbyes
Seperate worlds left behind when we share
These moments in time.

If I could find the words to tell you
If you believed it could be right
If you should feel the same way I do
Would we be happier tonight?
If you could understand, if I should take your hand
Maybe you'd take a chance,
Or turn away...

6. Never Say Goodbye
Never Say Goodbye
The time you first looked my way
I was just too blind to see.
The fears that led me astray
Created doubts within me.
I hope you understand I never meant to make you cry
And now I realize I never meant to say goodbye.

At times I turned you away
And I don't understand know why.
But if these words that I say
May sound to you like a lie.
Remember that I really never meant to make you cry
And now I realize I never meant to say goodbye.

You found a way to my heart
I let you in cautiously.
And since we made a new start
I feel it was meant to be.
So much more we can share together,
We can only try to make this feeling last forever-
Never say goodbye.

7. Strength Tonight
Strength Tonight
I said I wouldn't, I know it's not right
Once again I've lied.
I made a big show, I'm strong now
It won't phase me...
Sooner or later we all pay the price.

I know it's not right
Still I wanna lay down and cry.
I've no strength for this tonight.

Babe I don't blame you, it's just the cards
Once again in my way, dictating what I play.
I should be happy I tried for something and I was not afraid.
Does that stop my tears today?

I know it's not right
I had it all clear in my mind,
But I've no strength for this tonight.

8. Overload
Overload
So here I am again walking along a path alone.
I've got a house, a pet, I've even got a telephone
But have I found the thing that frees my soul?
You see, I'm still on overload

Although I'm used to it, to be on my own again.
No lover by my side, no one to say is my best friend.
The way we treat each other is a sin.
I'm guilty too, what a way to fit in...

Going with the flow but you know you're doing things
Doing things you know that just aren't right.
C'mon baby, I know we can do it,
Just let me know you've joined the fight.

Reading things I wrote about a hundred years ago
Through a glass darkly, but it's still me this I know.
A wandering child still looking for a home
Away from hate and far from overload.

Although I'm used to it and just take it all in stride
Never mind the glances, that's why they call it "foolish pride"
And you can't tell the sunlight to wait it's time
You can't stop the ocean's tide

Going with the flow but you know you're doing things
Doing things you know that just aren't right.
C'mon baby, I know we can do it,
Just let me know you've joined the fight.

Notes
Rosalba arranged this piano part from a demo I had made of this.
The demo had keyboard, bass, strings and a sax solo ( same melody
as clarinet)and a very different feel even though it was the same
tempo. Whenever I hear her piano version I can still hear the original
and I just always think it was so cool how she was able to do that.

9. Friend Of Mine
Friend Of Mine
If you wanted to you could drive my car
If you're feeling blue we could hit the bar
If it's getting late on a Friday night
You don't have a date, it's gonna be all right
Feeling down in the dumps again
Drinking wine alone
Don't you know you can count on me
All you have to do is pick up the phone.
Let's go grab a bite, then we can talk all night
About the things we love, the things we hate
And what is to become of our fate.
What are we to do - haven't got a clue
Will we ever be what we want to be.
Lost in endless conversation
Time is running out
Till the next time we meet again
We'll have so much more to talk about
You're a friend of mine.
If you're lost inside depression
I can ease your mind
If you're looking for direction
I can lead you to whatever you'll find
You're a friend of mine.

10. About Love
About Love
I don't know where to begin, sometimes I feel so shy
I want so much to give in and show you how much I feel for you
But I'm not sure what I should do.
'Cause I've been so alone and I don't know much about love.
It seems so easy to hide but it's so hard to let go
The feelings I keep inside, why is it so hard to show
And to touch, the way I want to so much
And be closer to you
'Cause I don't know much about love.
I know I shouldn't hold back, I'm trying hard not to care
I could go on with the lack of love but that's so unfair
And it's cold when you've got no one's hand to hold
So I'll have to take a chance or I'll never know about love.
I don't know much about love.

11. Omens
Omens
Do you believe in omens, in things that you can't see
Do you believe in good things-these questions I ask me
I like to watch the sunset on an Autumn day
Rises east then sets west but never goes awawy.
I haven't any answers, sometimes my questions too run dry
I only know there's something more to you and I
If we walk to the mountains we're closer to the sky
We can touch the heavens if we open our minds
It strays and comes home
It never goes too far
The circle's never broken
The forehead and the star..
Words are little rivers, flowing endlessly
And in the end mean nothing, no difference we can see
So we look towards the sunlight, tears in our eyes
A light we can't forget, even though we try.
It strays and comes home
It never goes too far
The circle's never broken
The forehead and the star..

12. Try
Try
Saturn's rings don't move the world
Make a woman from a little girl
Something in the mind told you
"Take the leap, the grass is green. Moondust falls on things unseen and feet don't wander there."
Where cool waters flow and wind rushes in
A cool breeze that roams on your sun stroked skin
Something in the mind whispers
"Take the leap, the grass is green. Moondust falls on things unseen and feet don't wander there."
But you'll never know if you never try
Maybe you're a star in someone else's eye
Maybe you just think they pass you by.
Maybe they'd be there for you,
Maybe not, it happens too
But maybe you'd see love in their eyes
Maybe you'd see love in their eyes
If you try.

1. Something That Will Last
Something That Will Last
I met you on a Monday
Your smile was lighter than the air
And then again on Tuesday
Though I pretended not to care
But when you asked to see me
Again on Friday, you know I’ll be there.....

Cause I know where there is at
And I know it is something that will last
Oh yeah...

I know you see right through me
I can’t pretend that I don’t care
I have to see you baby
I have to tell you that it’s rare
Finally to feel this way and
Finally to say that I wanna be there....

Cause I know where there is at
And I know it is something that will last
Oh yeah...

(Bass solo)

(Yeah and I will be there)
Cause I know where there is at
And I know it is something that will last.
Oh yeah...

2. Flying HIgh
Flying HIgh
You tell me that you want me
You tell me not to feel so sad
And if I give you half a chance
It might not be so bad

Been so long, I’m so glad
You found me
So long I have wanted to be
In your arms
Flying high we could be

Can’t you see I’m lonely
Cause I once lost at love
If I was to call your name
Would you rise above

Maybe I’m not dreaming
Maybe what you say is true
So I’ll give you half a chance
And fall in love with you

3. Don't Tell Me Why
Don't Tell Me Why
Carob chips sitting a fancy cup
A little here, a little there, a piece of fluff
Shoelaces on the left and on the right
Both seemed to be tied a little tight
Playing catch with Koda while the Piper roars
Stepping here to there through my front door

Don't tell me why, I don't wanna know
I just wanna grow, I just wanna have some fun
I wanna love someone, I wanna be someone
That someone wants to love

Baby working hard at a job all day
Gonna take a little trip, gonna get away
Jellybeans in a jar, on display
Going to the beach on a sunny day
Playing catch with Koda while the Piper roars
Stepping here to there through my front door

There's a question and an answer and an in between
A bluebird in my backyard hiding in a tree
While I’m playing catch with Koda and the Piper roars
Still stepping here to there through my front door
Don't Tell Me Why

4. You Want Love
You Want Love
You want love but I can’t give you love
Cause I’ve found that love’s not what they say
And it makes no difference anyway
You want me, well I want to be free
So don’t bother knocking on my door
I’ll only let you down like I’ve done before

Don’t call me on the telephone
You’ll never find me, I’m never home
Don’t look in my direction
I can’t return your affection

You want love but I can’t give you love
So don’t ask me to go out with you
Cause I don’t see things the way you do
You want me but I can’t make you see
I don’t want to play this game again
And it’s not my style to pretend

5. Tomorrow
Tomorrow
Don’t dwell on things
that you know can
never change
Don’t look behind
cause it’s just
a waste of time
Yesterday’s not the same
as tomorrow

Don’t feel regret
now’s the time
to forget
Don’t be afraid
in your heart you know
you’ve gained
Yesterday’s not the same
as tomorrow

Don’t be misled
there’s so much
more ahead
Don’t think too much
or you’ll risk
losing touch
Yesterday’s not the same
as tomorrow

6. If I Had A Wish
If I Had A Wish
If I had a wish would I know how to use it
If I had a wish could I make it come true
If I had a wish would I know not to lose it
If I had a wish would I know what to do
Or would I waste it on you

If I had the time would I use it so wisely
If I had a day here with nothing to do
If I had a weekend with no obligations
If I had the time would I know what to do
Or would I spend it with you

Cause I’m looking at a lost cause
And I know that it’s not right
I’ve wasted days, I’ve wasted hours
And what’s worse I’ve wasted nights
Cause there were times I could have spent
In the loving arms of someone new
If I Had A Wish

7. Change
Change
My face looked very different
When I looked at it today
The lines were the same but somehow they were hidden
And I knew deep down that I was not the same
I had changed, I had changed
But did I change for good or for bad
The leaves in the fall must make their journey
As they travel one by one to the waiting ground
And though they make their trip they’re not in any hurry
No - they fall silently, they do not make a sound
They must change, we all change
But do we change for good or for bad
Is it good or bad, to want something that you can’t have
Now I find I’m free to walk another pathway
Just another one that no one’s walked before
And I’ll walk it till I’m finished with the journey
And the time has come and I will roam no more
I will change, we all change
But do we change for good or for bad
Is it good or bad (does it make you sad) to want
Something that you can’t have
Is it good or bad cause you want it but
Someday you have to see it can’t be had

8. There Was A Time
There Was A Time
There was a time when I knew what I wanted to do
When I did what I wanted to do
Then the child took a step from my mind
There was a time when the troubles I have now seem few
And the laughs were for me and not you
Then the child took a step from my mind
There was a time
Take a look at my face, tell me what do you see
If you knew what was on my mind
Would you still talk to me?
Tell me how do you feel, tell me what do you know
I’m asking you right now baby
Do you really want to know what’s on my mind?
There was a time when I’d lay on the grass
And look at the sky, taking joy in the things I could find
Then the child took a step from my mind
There was a time when I knew that my feelings were mine
And meaning didn’t follow a rhyme

9. How Does It Feel
How Does It Feel
How does it feel to be on your own
No one to chain you, no one in your home
Is it better now, what would you say
How does it feel for you today
Now looking back was it all that bad
Were you so trapped and were you so sad
Is it better now, what would you say
How does it feel for you today
To have what you want, to have what you need
To be rid of me and be finally free

Is it everything you thought it would be

10. Is There No One
Is There No One
I am here all alone
It is dark it is cold
Is there no one
I have heard all the lies
Have they heard all my cries
Is there no one
I am listening I swear
The words I want to hear
I hear nothing
Still I listen for words and for
One that has all of the answers
I need....

I don’t want to believe
All the things that I see
Is there no one
To convince me that all
Is the way it should be
Is there no one
I have done all I could
And all they said I should
Still there’s nothing
I am waiting in line
Am I wasting my time
Is there no one who knows
Is There No One

11. Falling From the Skies
Falling From the Skies
Lost in thought a memory surrounds me
Moving in and clouding my mind
Sweet it was, in no way forgotten
I was your love and you were mine
I’d say most days the rain is just weather
But today it matches my eyes
Through the eyes that look out the window
Rain, like tears from above,
Falling from the skies
Thinking back when love was a good thing
Thinking of the past life we knew
All the plans we made in our springtime
And like a dream they ended too soon
All alone with no one to hold me
Silent voices holding their pain
No one here to shutter the windows
From the snow, the wind and the rain
Falling From the Skies

12. Who's To Say
Who's To Say
Pieces scattered, things are lost
Lives are peaceful but what’s the cost
And who’s to say which way the parts get cast
Who’s to say which players are meant to last
Once the final role gets cast
The wanderer is speaking
To my mind tonight
Telling me to get in my car and just
Drive it out of sight
The wanderer, the searcher
The voice that must be still
As my allotted tasks I try to fill
Well who’s to say when I’ve paid that bill
Your voice is still music to my ears
Calming doubts and sidelining my fears
Of things to come, of things undone
The thing I could not do
The one that I wanted most
Was love from you
Who’s to say if I’ve been a fool
There’s people here and still others there
I try to tell myself that if that I cared
I could fly up to the sky and climb the stairs
Knowing that I am going
But not knowing where
Who’s to say when I’ve spent my share
Who's To Say

13. September Monday
September Monday
What’s that you say
What brought you to this September Monday
A lifetime of plans that didn’t go your way
It’s hard to play a game that always ends up so badly
But it can change, it can change
What’s that you say
What brought you to this September Monday
Was it her eyes, or how she looked away
You’re not to blame, cast it off, let it go
Just let the cards play
It may go away, it may go away
If you decide to live another day, come what may
Why let them control you
Why let them dictate how you feel
Why do you let them decide for you
And for your life what is real
It’s history, don’t dwell there
Just turn it around, just turn away

14. It Just Takes Time
It Just Takes Time
Somewhere in the fields, lying in the grass
The sunlight’s in our eyes
Somewhere there is peace, that’s all we ask
As the hurt falls from our eyes
To see the beauty that can be seen
And the love that can be felt
To feel the love we can (inside ourselves)
Cause it’s ok, sometimes we feel that way
And sometimes things seem so rough
It’s never really set, things always change
And we’re always good enough
To see the beauty that can be seen
Not always dwelling in the sad
Cause you’ve got to have the good times (with the bad)
It comes and goes, the good the bad
And that’s all I really know
Lately these days it’s good, my thanks to you
Did I forget to tell you so?
You’ve taken me somewhere
A place I couldn’t quite define
For I was sure I’d only dreamt it (in my mind)
It just took time, so many years it seems
To make me feel this way
But change is here, never again to feel the same
And I don’t mind, I don’t miss the things I left behind
What I learned was more important
Than the so-called riches I couldn’t find
So many things of which I had been blind
It just takes time
It Just Takes Time

15. These Hands
These Hands
See these hands
They want to lift you
See these eyes
They want to kiss you
Feel the love
Your heart to mine
Things I’ve seen, baby
Others are blind
See this smile
Let it help you
Hear this song
Let it move you
So in love
Your hand in mine
Things I’ve seen, baby
They’re too sublime
Come around
Move close to my side
Swim upstream
Don’t flow with the tide
Show the love
That’s there inside
Things you’ll see, baby
They’re too sublime
These Hands

1. Happy Defiant
Happy Defiant
It returns, a boomerang life is throwing
Bridges burn, it's not a matter of knowing
What we learn, what day to day we are showing
Wheels they turn, we're just along for the ride

Chorus - I'm alright, I'm happy
You're alright, defiant
We're alright.

Still we see signs of the times that are showing
Scattered leaves blow in the wind without knowing
What will be, still to their fate they are going
As are we, direction a state of mind.

Chorus

Look at me now, what's lost is found, it's turned around
What you can see, how things will be
I'm turning, I'm turning, I'm turning...

On we go feeling a happy defiant
So sell those lies cause we're not gonna buy it
Blow by blow, it isn't lost once we find it
And I know we'll stand our ground everyday

I'm alright, I'm happy
You're alright, defiant
We're alright. We're alright
I'm alright, defiant
You're alright, you're happy
We're alright, defiant.

2. To Remember
To Remember
Time has no memory, it only passes
Makes no judgement, doesn't know
Why you were or were not there.
My memory fails me but keeps me happy
Keeps me moving, don't ask me
Why I do or do not care.

Tryin' to remember while I try to forget.

I was the same as I am now
Yet a shadow in a crowd would have more life
To call it's own.
We were just players on a stage
Waiting for some magic day, all the while
Too young to know..

Tryin' to remember while I try to forget.
Tryin' to remember while I try to forget.

3. Emotional Charity
Emotional Charity
I wake up and I go to work each day
I smile into a face of stone
I give and get nothing in return
I say good morning into silent eyes
Then I'm asked why I prefer to be alone.

I'm pulling up the bucket and it's dry
The well being tapped to the max
Today that's just the way it will be
No more emotional charity.

In the evening when I go out at night
I give my all to an empty room
I sing a song only a few can hear
The same few give all the time
To tap them dry also I fear.

I'm pulling up the bucket and it's dry
The well being tapped to the max
Today that's just the way it will be
No more emotional charity.

How long will my voice want to sing
And be the tree in the forest no one hears
Does it even have a little meaning
Is it doing anything at all
Or is it simply taking a fall?

I'm pulling up the bucket and it's dry
The well being tapped to the max
Today that's just the way it will be
No more emotional charity.

4. Aggravated Muse
Aggravated Muse
Woke up wound up, mind moving fast
Sit down, shut up - how long will it last
Harness all the energy that's there inside of you
Turn it into a good something
My aggravated muse.

What should I do, what could you want from me
Listening to you, wind ripping through the trees
And I could write forever never knowing what to do
But you say "Never say never!"
My aggravated muse.

Was that the point, all I need to learn?
Just sieze the day, not from my fate to turn.
Watch me dance in front of you, I come into the view
The focus now is clear and thanks is due
My aggravated muse.

5. Yeah I Know
Yeah I Know
Now you walk right by me like it doesn't show
What you've been doing or where you go, but I know
Yeah I know.
And you smile real sweet like I'm unaware
Where you've been going or whose time you share, but I know
Yeah I know.

I know more than this one thing
I'm here to tell you something
You think that I'm crying for you
That can't be further from the truth.
I'm not down, I'm not out cause we're through
I figured out what is real, what's a lie
There's the door, have a nice life.

There were times in the past when I felt weak
I'd follow you around but I changed you see cause I know
Yeah I know,
You're less than a minnow in a fishing pond
And it's not real hard for me to move along cause I know
Yeah I know.

I know more than this one thing
I'm here to tell you something
You think that I'm crying for you
That can't be further from the truth.
I'm not down, I'm not out cause we're through
I figured out what is real, what's a lie
There's the door, have a nice life.

I'm not down, I'm not out - I'm not down, I'm not out
Yeah I Know

7. Can't Handle Blue
Can't Handle Blue
I was walking down your street, up to your front door
Just like a hundred times before
You won't be there, you won't be there, you won't be there
Baby I don't care

I told you I love you, that's never gonna change
It's always gonna be the same
But I don't mind, I take my time, no I don't mind
Babe I'm feelin fine

But I love you, I love you
I love you, I just can't handle blue.

8. Hard To Be Different
Hard To Be Different
You want to belong but you can't belong
You don't understand but you know it's wrong
It's no use waiting it takes too long
You're feeling weak but you're getting strong
It's so hard to be different...
You're nodding "yes" when you're feeling "no"
It's just a matter of letting go
It's no use fighting when you're alone
So don't give up just stay at home
It's so hard to be different...
All you want is to be set free
From judgement,hate and hypocrisy
And find someone who will agree
That normal ones are the enemy
It's so hard to be different...
There's no escape, you can't relate
Maybe it's luck or maybe it's fate
So stay inside and lock all the doors
And hide from everyone's personal wars.
It's so hard to be different...

9. Non-Issue (A Dialogue)
Non-Issue (A Dialogue)
R-They want me there for them, but are they there for me?
I see no reciprocity.
And though I know it's better to give than to receive, why is it always me?
K-They force their views on me. I'm not the enemy.
It's just a waste of energy and my time, which I don't care to give freely unless it makes them see
That it's not an issue...
R-They have 2000 "friends" and yet there not famous but they make it look that way with fancy words and a creative resume, clever in their deceit.
K-I'm not interested if they're an agnostic or have an atheistic view. It doesn't matter if they're a Christian or a Jew because for me it's true
That it's not an issue...
R-I used to care so much I started losing touch and started playing the same game. But now they all look like fools and I'm here to say that I am not the same.
K-It's hard to ignore the world's hypocrisy when someone throws it in my face. I can't control the way they use cyberspace but I can choose "delete"
Now it's not an issue..

10. The Bait
The Bait
Once in my life I will know that it's wrong when it's wrong
Not closing my ears to mistakes I repeat in a song.

I won't take the bait
I won't make that mistake
I won't take the bait

Twice in my life I will know the sweet peace freedom brings
When I turn away that invisible tug on my strings

I won't take the bait
I won't make that mistake
I won't take the bait

And what I have done once or twice I can do all the time
When I realize that the freedom to choose is all mine

I don't take the bait
I don't make that mistake
I do not take the bait
The Bait

11. Knocked Down
Knocked Down
SOMETIMES I’M DRIVING AND I WONDER
THAT THERE’S SOMETHING GOING ON
THAT THERE’S MORE BENEATH THE SURFACE
THAT THERE MAY BE SOMETHING WRONG
I’M TRYING NOT THINK ABOUT IT
BUT IT DOESN’T DO MUCH GOOD
AND WHEN I TRY TO GET AN ANSWER
I ONLY FEEL MISUNDERSTOOD

AND I FEEL SUCH A STRUGGLE WITHIN
AND IT’S TEARING ME APART INSIDE
JUST WHEN I FEEL LIKE I’M STARTING TO WIN
I’M KNOCKED DOWN BY ANOTHER BLOW FROM BEHIND

AND IF THE BATTLE’S REALLY OVER
IT’S PLAIN TO SEE I HAVEN’T WON
SOMETIMES I WONDER ABOUT MY PURPOSE
CAUSE I’M NOT REALLY HAVING FUN
AND ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT SURROUND ME
DO THEY EVER FEEL THE SAME
I’M TIRED OF WASTING ALL MY ENERGY
I’M TIRED OF FEELING THE SAME WAY

AND I FEEL SUCH A STRUGGLE WITHIN
AND IT’S TEARING ME APART INSIDE
JUST WHEN I FEEL LIKE I’M STARTING TO WIN
I’M KNOCKED DOWN BY ANOTHER BLOW FROM BEHIND

12. Across the Table
Across the Table
I THINK IT’S KIND OF FUNNY
THE PEOPLE THAT I SEE
THEIR QUIRKY LITTLE HABITS
AND PERSONALITIES
AND THEN ACROSS THE TABLE
I SEE YOUR FRIENDLY FACE

IF WE’RE OUT TO DINNER
OR WALKING IN THE PARK
OR I’M WATCHING TV
NEWS THAT BREAKS MY HEART
CAN I GET LOST IN YOUR EYES
IN ANOTHER PLACE?
I LOOK ACROSS THE TABLE
I SEE YOUR FRIENDLY FACE
Across the Table

13. 3 x Again
3 x Again
I wish I could be with you all the time
I wish I knew for sure that you were mine
I wish I could trust you when I'm not there
But it's not your fault though that I don't think you care
I wish you were the first person to love me
I know then I would trust you completely
But damaged goods is this heart of mine
And locked in a circle it waits the time
Till you turn on me and leave me unceremoniously
Cheat on me with my best friend
Lie to me once, then three times again.
I wish this nagging doubt would go away
In times past though when it left I wished it would stay
I don't want to look at you through the corners of my eyes
Wondering if the smile you own is your disquise
Worn on your face to hide the truth from me,
Does it blind me to the things that I should see?
I think this love a beautiful wild flower
While trapped in my mind I count the hours,
Till you turn on me and leave me unceremoniously
Cheat on me with my best friend
Lie to me once, then three times again
Cut loose the ball and chain,
What it's called when the interest wanes
Losing more faith every time it ends
Lie to me once, then three times again.
I wish I could believe it's different this time
And I finally found a love I could call mine
But faithless is the way that I will go
As I'm waiting for the rivers to change their flow
And you turn on me and leave me unceremoniously
Cheat on me with my best friend
Lie to me once, then three times again
Cut loose the ball and chain,
What it's called when the interest wanes
Losing more faith every time it ends
Lie to me once, then three times again.
3 x Again

14. Let Me Go
Let Me Go
I don't want to see you anymore,
I don't know what you're looking for
I don't want to be aware of your life now
I don't want you to be hangin round
I don't see the point in being friends
It only makes me feel down again
I don't want to know who you're seeing now
I don't want you to know that I'm down.
I don't want you to stay, you don't want me to go
Got to leave it all behind
Let me go
Why is it so hard to set me free
Can't you see it's what I want to be
Is it so hard to believe that I'm doing fine
When will you realize you're not meant to be mine?
You don't understand just what is real
How can you pretend what you feel?
How do expect our lives to ever change
If you keep on hangin on to me this way?
I don't want you to stay, you don't want me to go
Got to leave it all behind
Let me go

I Can't Tell You Why
I can't tell you why I just cant do it. I hate to be so negative but that's all there is to it. For certainly one thing is for sure, it doesn't matter whether it matters or not, the truth is you see, it's not me. And I can't tell you "yes" when the answer is "no". That just won't do when you need to know (and really you don't) and it's not up to you whether I tell you anything about it at all that you don't already see when it's just me. So leave it up to fate to let you in or shut the door on a situation that could go nowhere or to where we've been before. Though whether we choose to remember the past is yet another story best left untold by me.
